Summary: Gwen is overwhelmed with information. A double drabble.
Gwen nearly groaned aloud as Ianto came by and dumped another huge pile of books on her desk. She was soon going to be buried. ‘Is this the same hazing you give all your new staff?’ she asked, certain that Ianto, at least, would give her a straight answer.
He frowned at her.’ Hazing? No, this is just the introductory Torchwood employee manuals.’
‘But…’ she gestured around at the pile. How could all of this just be the introductory level information? It would take weeks to read it all.
‘Ah, I see what you mean now. No two days here are ever the same. Makes inductions a little bit tricky. There’s five whole chapters in volume three just on dealing with weevils. And you’ve already seen just how troublesome they can be. Personally, I think the materials on the subject are a bit light on. Then again, who’s got time to re-write them to be more comprehensive?’
‘You’ve read all of these?’
‘Oh, yes. But this is nothing compared to what we had at Torchwood One in London. Now that was a steep learning curve. Think of this as the three day intensive, instead of the seven year college degree.’
