Summary: Jack knows better than to trust the forecast. A double drabble.
Jack stood by the quayside, leaning on the railing and looking up at the sky with a frown.
'Here you are,' Ianto said, sidling up beside him. 'We wondered where you'd got to. Well, I did, anyway. I can't speak for the others. I daresay Owen might have even been happy about it. Not the point, though. Your coffee was abandoned on the desk going cold. On another day, I might take offence to that. It takes a lot to make coffee that good.'
'Got a weather warning,' Jack replied. 'Thought it'd come up and check it out for myself.'
Ianto nodded. 'A very good idea,' he agreed. 'The weatherman always gets it wrong, which considering how consistently cold and rainy Cardiff is, is a pretty poor effort.'
Jack stared skyward again at the thick grey clouds, and then a large rumble erupted overhead, powerful enough to vibrate the ground under their feet. 'I think maybe he got it right for once. Or at least the rift has coincidentally dropped us a headache that just looks a lot like bad weather.'
Ianto heaved a sigh. 'I was afraid you were going to say that. Brolleys and gumboots?'
'More like sandbags.'
