Summary: Jack isn't going to let things get him down.
‘It’s out there, somewhere,’ Jack said, pointing vaguely in the direction of France.
‘How far?’ That was kind of important, Ianto thought. As their captain, Jack needed to provide better and more precise leadership.
Jack didn’t reply right away, too busy tugging off his boots and rolling up his trousers. ‘You won’t need your togs,’ he finally said. ‘Shouldn't need to paddle out any further than say a hundred feet.’
‘A hundred feet?’ Ianto stared disparagingly out at the water. ‘It’s not Brighton Beach, Jack.’ It was muddy and covered in shale.
Jack shrugged. ‘So pretend it is. Shoes off!’
