Rating: PG
Length: 200 words
Summary: Jack puts his body on the line for the job. A double drabble.
‘What the hell happened to you three?’ Owen asked, watching Tosh and Ianto carry Jack into the hub, each of them propping him up. He was covered in blood and still had a gaping wound on his head.
‘SUV versus kebab van,’ Ianto reported, guiding Jack to a chair as Tosh grabbed the first aid kit and a clean gauze to press against his head.
‘I'm okay,’ Jack said, trying to fend off the fussing.
‘You and Tosh okay?’ Owen asked.
‘We're fine. The SUV however…’
‘Which ended up more damaged? It or Jack?’
‘Hard to say,’ Ianto replied, ‘but for once it was Jack's driving that saved us rather than nearly kill us.’
‘Do kebab vans normally cause major accidents?’
‘They do when they have blowfish at the wheel. They're much more at home steering expensive sports cars than clunky food trucks. We didn't even know they were out there until they cut across us on Castle Street. Naturally Jack made chase.’
‘And where are they?’
‘Dead.’
‘Ah, so all's well that ends well.’
Ianto cringed, remembering the SUV being towed off to the panel beaters, still caked in Jack's blood on the driver's side door. ‘Matter of opinion.’
