Summary: Some aliens are harder to find than others. A double drabble.
‘Hours!’ Gwen complained, dragging herself from the cogwheel door to the sofa and throwing herself down on it. ‘Out there for bloody hours,’ she repeated as Ianto came and flopped down next to her. He felt about as tired as she looked, the pair of them lounging in an exhausted heap.
‘I told you it wouldn't be easy to find,’ Jack said, following in after them, but still looking as fresh and energetic as always.
‘The thing was practically invisible!’ Gwen cried. ‘We might have been out there for days looking for it.’
‘Are you sure it wasn't days?’ Ianto asked. ‘Felt like it.’
Jack shrugged off their defeated attitude. ‘You have to adapt to survive out in the universe. Having
chameleon qualities aren't actually that unusual. Lots of species are able to not just change the colour of their skin but to completely alter their physical appearance if they think they might be in danger. It's kinda cool. Think how useful it would be to totally transform your body, not to mention fun.’
Ianto lolled his head in Jack's direction, sparing enough energy to roll his eyes at their leader. ‘I walked past that abandoned shopping trolley seven times!’
