Drabble_weekly Challenge 454 - Not quite ready
Title: Not quite ready
‘This place is even nicer than I thought,’ Ianto said, twirling the wine glass with his hand. He'd been itching to find an excuse to visit this French place for months. It was getting a good review in all the tourist brochures that adorned his upstairs desk. It was just a tad expensive for your everyday grabbing a bite to eat.
‘Nicer with two,’ Jack said, reaching across to wrap his hand around Ianto's.
Ianto immediately pulled his hand away, tucking it under the tablecloth and giving a surreptitious glance around the room to see if anyone had noticed. Jack arched an eyebrow at him. ‘Problem?’
‘Do we have to be so obvious?’
‘You don't think two guys having dinner in a really fancy restaurant isn't already a dead giveaway?’
‘We could be work colleagues on a business trip, enjoying a quiet dinner after a long day of… business.’
Jack leaned forward across the table. ‘Name me one boss that would pay for a place this nice.’
‘You!’ Ianto hissed. He lowered his voice further. ‘Just because we go to dinner doesn't mean it has to be a… a…’
‘Date?’ Jack offered. ‘You did say no offices.’
Ianto huffed, slumping back in his chair, crossing his arms.
‘Ianto,’ Jack began in that lecturing tone, ‘it's okay. You're allowed to have dinner with whoever you like. There's plenty of places in the universe where two men could never be together like this. Hell, there's places on this planet where that's true. Think how lucky you are to have such liberties.’
‘I know how lucky I am,’ he replied. ‘That doesn't mean I have to be so openly public about it.’ He backtracked before he caused hurt with his words. ‘I mean, maybe I just don't like sharing you with everyone else.’

Summary: Ianto isn't quite sure how comfortable he is with being publicly out. A triple drabble.
