Summary: Sometimes you don't need to be an expert. A double drabble.

Owen very carefully carried in the pot that held his latest rift find, climbing the stairs and setting it down in their hothouse. He knew he shouldn't be that enthused, looking at the small bright green shrub, but he'd grown to like researching plants that came through the rift. The hothouse was a very relaxing place to be, surrounded by greenery and the occasional flower.

Jack leant in the doorway and watched him, letting Ianto slip past to bring them all a round of coffee. 'New toy?'

'Picked it up this morning from that rift alert,' Owen said.

Jack came over and fingerered the tight curly leaves, before drawing to his nose and sniffing.

'Don't touch it,' Owen said. 'I haven't figured out what it is yet.'

'I wouldn't get too excited,' Jack replied.

'And since when are you an expert on plants? It could cure some incurable disease for all we know,' Owen replied.

He tugged off a sprig and handed it to Ianto. He tentatively smelled it then nibbled a tiny bit.

'For Christ's sake, don't do that!' Owen yelled. 'Do you lot have a death wish or something?'

'It's parsley, Owen,' Ianto replied. 'Tasty, but not particularly alien.'
