'All of time and space,' Owen complained. 'Why do we end up with all the shit?'
Jack suppressed a smirk. 'It's a rift, Owen. It's volatile and unpredictable at best. Most of the stuff that comes through does so without warning. It gets plucked from wherever it is and then... SHOOP! Here it is.'
'That still doesn't explain why we never get good stuff. When was the last time the rift gave us a Ferrari, or a bank vault full of money, huh? Then we could retire and enjoy life.'
'And who'd be left to pick up everything after that?'
