‘What did you used to do at Torchwood One?’ Tosh asked, feeling a little more confident asking now that she had a glass of wine under her belt and Ianto was almost through his glass of scotch. It was now or never really.

‘Oh, all sorts,’ he said, keeping his answer generic.

‘Ianto!’ she scolded. ‘Here I am trying to get you a little bit tipsy so you'll tell all and you're giving me that?’

He smiled, throwing back the last of his scotch. ‘Okay, I'll tell you, but it's just between us, okay?’

She nodded enthusiastically. ‘My lips are sealed.’

‘Executive assistant to Yvonne Hartman and Special Projects Liaison.’

Tosh blinked. ‘Oh. For a second I thought you were going to say you were nobody.’ Ianto raised an eyebrow at her. ‘I mean, in the nicest possible way. Like you were just someone in admin. I didn't actually think…’ She leaned closer. ‘So, you were really part of the inner circle?’

‘Yep. Although it wasn't always like that. Bit of a long story actually. But a good one.’

‘Does Jack know?’

Ianto shook his head emphatically. ‘No, and I'd like to keep it that way. Just for now, anyway.’
