Summary: Jack feels like he's finally been defeated. A double drabble.

When the cell door clanked behind Jack he barely even registered the sound. He was past running through his mind all the implications of his arrest. He doubted they would ever want to extract information from him. They'd already destroyed the hub and everything in it. There was no point asking him now for the access codes for the secure archives and other key infrastructure. They hadn't cared about Torchwood or what intelligence they had that might prevent a full scale alien incursion. This was worse than anything they'd faced before. Jack didn't even know if these aliens could be beaten.

All he wanted was to find the smallest, darkest corner of the cell where he could curl up and shut himself away from the world. It didn't matter that the very existence of the human race was still at stake. Jack had already lost everything that meant anything to him. All the fight had drained out of him the moment life had left his lover. Without Ianto there at his side he didn't know how he could ever win. If they could take him away, they could take anything they wanted. Incarceration had never felt more of a relief.
