Summary: Kathy should know better than to accept gifts. A double drabble.

Ianto slid the takeaway coffee cup across the stainless steel cafe table.

Kathy looked up with a suspicious glint in her eye. 'What's this for?'

Ianto slid into the chair opposite her. 'My treat for having kept you up half the night.' He popped the lid off his own and added a stick of sugar, stirring it gently.

'The whole night, you mean,' she replied, massaging the back of her neck.

'Yes, well all nighters don't feel like all nighters to us anymore. Talk to me when you've gone three days without sleep.'

She gave him a raised eyebrow. 'That happen often?'

He pulled a pastry from a paper bag and then pushed that over in her direction as well. 'More than you know.'

'More than I want to know,' she clarified. 'My boss is going to need a better explanation than what you've given me.'

'I can do that.'

'How?'

Ianto smirked. 'How's your coffee?'

Kathy's eyes went wide at the question. 'What the hell did you do to it?'

He shrugged. 'Just a little retcon. You might want to call in sick today.'

'You bastard!' she swore.

'You wanted a better explanation. I'm giving you full plausible deniability.'
