Summary: Ianto has something important to say. A double drabble.
Ianto shoved his hands in his pockets as he made sure he kept eye contact. 'So, bit of a long story, but we met at work. I mean, it wasn't like it was love at first sight. I was still with Lisa for a bit, and then… well, it just kind of happened. Not conventional I know, but the important thing is we're happy. I'm happy,' he emphasised. 'I just need you to know that. I love him, and I'm hoping that you'll come to love him too. Just not in the same way, mind you.'
Ianto held his breath as he suffered through the long silent pause. 'So? Say something? Anything?'
There was a low growl and Ianto leaned his head forward, banging it lightly against the cell door, sighing. 'You're right, that was pathetic. Even I don't believe it. And you know what? You're not even half as scary as my sister. No offence.'
The weevil cocked its head at him and growled again. It was easier to think it understood him completely.
'You're right. I'll come back later after I've had a bit more of a think and we'll practice it again until we get it right.'
