Summary: No parking infringement is too tricky for Ianto to fix. A double drabble.
'Officious little prick,' Owen grumbled as he stood on the kerb and watched the exchange going on a few dozen feet away. 'It's like they follow us around just looking for an excuse to give us grief. Nobody sodding appreciates what we do.'
Jack didn't disagree. The city's many public servants did seem to have a penchant for making their lives unnecessarily difficult. You accidentally set fire to one town hall and nobody lets you live it down.
'Ianto's wasting his breath,' Owen said, as their general support officer stepped in to negotiate with the parking inspector. 'They see the SUV and that's it. Booked. Emergency vehicles only. Well, if we don't handle emergencies, then who does?'
'Oh, ye of little faith,' Jack replied, folding his arms and leaning against the nearest light pole, smirking as he watched the parking officer getting riled up whilst his interlocutor remained completely calm. 'No one knows the road laws like Ianto, and there isn't a parking inspector this side of the Severn that's a match for him.'
The inspector was heard growling loudly and threw his book on the ground, stomping off.
Ianto gave a thumbs up. 'We're good to go, sir.'
