Summary: Jack is rolling out the red carpet for a guest to Torchwood. A double drabble.
‘Alright, listen up people,’ Jack called out. ‘I’ve just got word from Ianto that pizza is on its way.’
‘Wow,’ Owen remarked. ‘Life changing stuff, that.’
Jack didn’t let Owen’s lack of enthusiasm dampen his own. ‘Not our usual delivery girl, though. Someone special tonight. Anyone remember that copper from the other night? Turns out she’s got a side gig delivering pizzas.’
Suzie frowned at him. ‘Don't tell me you’re letting her in here? Haven't we got enough problems without some noisy police trampling all over our stuff?’
Jack smirked. Normally he’d agree, but this particular policewoman left him intrigued. ‘Not only are we letting her in, we’re rolling out the red carpet. Going to let her think she’s cracked the mystery and found us all on her own. A one night only Torchwood special, followed by a night on the town and a few spiked drinks.’
Suzie’s expression turned to one of amused mirth. ‘You can be cruel sometimes, Jack.’
‘We’re finding out how much the police really know. It’s purely work.’
‘Whatever,’ Owen grumbled. ‘S’pose you want us to pretend like nothing is going on.’
Jack grinned. ‘Exactly. Places people. She should be here in about twenty seconds’
