Summary: Jack doesn't so much bend the rules as break them. A double drabble.
Owen arched an eyebrow as he watched Jack slink into the hub, paper coffee cup held brazenly for all to see.
'Isn't that breaking the rules?' Owen asked, eyeing off the coffee, but without feeling that same jealous pinch that he might have done if he'd been equally subjected to Ianto's coffee purgatory. For once, Jack was in the doghouse on his own.
Jack had the gumption to not even pretend he didn't know what Owen was talking about. 'I got told I wasn't allowed to have any of Ianto's coffee. He never said anything about procuring my own.'
Owen twiddled a pen between his fingers. 'You know that's splitting hairs, right?' Truthfully, he expected it would only land Jack in even more trouble if he got caught. It was meant to be a punishment, but it didn't look like Jack was suffering much hardship.
'Ianto is a stickler for very precise rules,' Jack began lecturing him. 'If it wasn't allowed he should have specifically said so. I just outsmarted him.'
A hand came from behind Jack and snatched the takeaway cup. 'Outsmarted, huh?' Ianto said, dropping it in the bin, contents spilling out on impact. 'I don't think so.'
