torchwood100Summary: Jack has been attacked by the most unlikely of suspects. A double drabble.
‘Bloody idiot,’ Owen muttered as he knelt beside Jack who was attempting to sit up against Owen’s advice. Behind him, Owen could see the pool of blood Jack had left where he’d been lying unconscious.
Owen handed him a towel. ‘Just hold that there and keep pressure on until I can get some water to irrigate the wound and see how bad it is.’
Gwen was first to rifle through her bag and extract a water bottle and Owen poured it slowly onto the back of Jack's head, earning several hisses of pain.
‘Don't sulk at me,’ Owen griped, chastising his patient. ‘I’ve got to get all the sand out of it so I can see. You could’ve cracked your bloody skull open. Fortunately it looks like it only broke the skin, but it's deep enough to need a few stitches.’ Owen heaved a sigh. ‘So much for promising us we’d get some time off work.’ At least Ianto wasn't here to make a fuss about it. Yet, anyway.
‘What happened?’ Jack asked in a slightly vague voice.
‘You got hit on the head by a coconut. Told you not to go snoozing under those trees whilst we were swimming.’
