Summary: Jack is dying to know why Ianto is so invested in this case. A double drabble.
Jack watched Ianto with intense curiosity the entire way back to the hub. There’d been something intensely personal about their current case ever since Jack had arrived at the Electro cinema, but now Jack was even more intrigued.
Ianto had said at the hospital that he knew Providence Park. It was a mental hospital treating the less severe cases of psychological illness. Jack knew that Ianto had a dedicated memory bank of all things that other people would never even bother or care to know, yet this one baffled him. It wasn’t exactly close by, over the border in England, yet something nagged at the back of Jack’s mind about it. Why would Ianto know about it?
‘Visited the palace before?’ he asked, just about as nonchalantly as he could. He wasn’t expecting to suddenly find patient records for him there. He’d gone through Ianto’s life history with a fine tooth comb and there was no connection as far as he could discern.
‘That poor woman,’ was all Ianto said. ‘All those years in that place because of these Night Travellers. Just imagine.’
Jack watched his expression but if he was expecting the facade to crack, he was thoroughly disappointed.
