Summary: Tosh and Owen discuss office romance over a drink. A double drabble.
Tosh couldn’t help but grin over the top of her wine glass as she sat opposite Owen at the bar. He was even shouting the drinks so she’d ordered something nicer than just the normal house white.
‘What are you so happy about?’ he asked, taking a pull on his beer. ‘I mean, not that a night off isn’t great, unless you’re Gwen, stuck on rift duty.’
Tosh sipped some more of her wine. ‘Don’t you want to know why?’
‘Why what?’
‘Why Jack wanted the night off? I heard he’s taking Ianto out on a date to that fancy French place in town. It’s like a proper date. You know, since coming back from… wherever it was.’
Owen’s eyes rolled at her enthusiasm. ‘Do you think that’s normal? The boss dating the lowliest member of the team?’
‘Owen!’ she scolded. ‘He’s not lowly.’
‘You know what I mean.’
‘So what if it’s a little unusual? I think it’s sweet.’ She looked at him rather hopefully. ‘Doesn’t everyone deserve a chance to be happy?’
Owen threw back his beer. ‘Spose it’s better than him wanting to shag either of us. Teaboy can bloody have him.’
‘You’re such a romantic, Owen.’
