Summary: Jack discovers that he's no longer top of the family food chain. A double drabble.
‘Barry's gone rogue again,’ Sian declared as she streamed past her father on his way from the kitchen. ‘He'll be halfway to Morrison's by the time we get there. You'd better hope that new spray formulation works better than the last time. See you in a bit.’ And with that, she was off out the door towards the SUV.
Jack turned his head, coffee mug gripped as he swung his head from side to side, looking baffled by the brief exchange. ‘What just happened?’ he asked, frowning at Ianto.
‘That would be our daughter telling you she's about to go after the biggest, baddest weevil in Cardiff and put him back where he belongs. Again.’
Jack seemed to come back to his senses. ‘Wait, I totally didn't approve that.’
Ianto smirked. ‘I noticed. You just got steamrolled by a twenty four year-old without even barking a reminder about protocols at her. Not that she doesn't know them back to front. You've gotten soft in your old age.’
‘Soft?’ Jack cried incredulously. ‘I'm not soft!’
‘Unless you plan on remotely disabling the SUV to stop her,’ he replied.
Jack grumbled. ‘Well, let's just hope Big Bad Barry ends up equally downtrodden.’
