Summary: Owen is fed up with being harangued for paperwork.
‘Have you finished those budget reports yet?’ Jack asked, leaning over the medical bay railing and staring down at Owen as he lay on his own autopsy table, seemingly engrossed in a well worn paperback.
‘I’ve been busy,’ Owen replied.
‘I can see that,’ Jack said, eyes narrowing. ‘Vital research on how much it costs to run medical care for a top secret organisation?’
‘As it happens,’ Owen replied sarcastically, wishing Jack would let him finish things in his own time. It wasn’t as if he hadn’t been here all night up to his armpits in alien corpse. He was on his lunch break, coupled with breakfast, midnight and supper before last night breaks. Hell, he was off the clock and not intending on doing anything more, least of all budget costings for who the hell knew.
Jack growled at Owen's insolence. ‘I’ve never met anyone so… so…’
‘Indolent,’ Ianto offered, wandering past with his clipboard, without even so much as looking up from it.
‘Yeah, that,’ Jack said, though Owen was sure he didn't actually know exactly what the word meant. Owen himself was only reading between the lines, but trust Teaboy to have the perfect word for it.
