Title: Fun in the sun
‘Here you are!’ Jack exclaimed, having located his lover, stretched out on the rooftop of the Millenium Centre, looking relaxed as he lounged there in his sunglasses, t-shirt and what had to be the only pair of shorts he owned.. As far as Cardiff summer weather went, today was the day of the entire season for enjoying the sunshine.
‘Don’t pretend you couldn’t find me,’ Ianto replied. ‘You only had to ping my phone.’
It was true. That was precisely how Jack had found him, although the ping didn’t stipulate altitude. There was still some actual searching required. ‘What are you doing up here?’
‘What does it look like?’ he said with a tone of incredulity. ‘You’re the one telling me all the time that I need to take some time off for myself. So, since I had a free afternoon…’
‘Well, yeah but I thought…’
Ianto lowered his shades to give Jack a look. ‘What? That taking time off only counted when we sit and binge a James Bond film together? Or perhaps naked hide and seek?’
‘No, just that… Well, if you’d said you were going to sunbathe, you could’ve at least invited me!’
‘Since when do you wait for an engraved invitation?’
‘True,’ Jack confessed. He looked around, still waiting for the polite invitation that didn't come, before taking matters into his own hands. ‘So, is this spot taken?’
‘Do you see any other handsome, topless men occupying it?’ There was such a naughty smirk on his face that Jack could scarcely tear his clothes off fast enough.
‘You know what?’ Ianto asked after a few minutes of lounging in companionable silence.
‘What?’
‘I hadn’t thought this afternoon could get any more perfect. Turns out I was wrong.’
Jack smirked. ‘See, sometimes it's good to be wrong.’
