Summary: Ianto is bothered by a strange recurring dream. A double drabble.


'How's your sleep?' Owen asked, working through the checklist for his quarterly medical check-ups, even if he knew it by heart.

'Fine,' Ianto replied, rebuttoning his shirt cuff after Owen had finished taking a blood sample and checking his pressure.

'At least six hours? Even if it's broken into two or three chunks by natural waking? No interruptions?'

'Yes, all fine. Although…'

'What?'

'Do dreams count as disruptions to healthy sleep?'

'Not normally. Why?'

'Just, I keep having this one dream where Jack and my roles are reversed.'

Owen snorted a laugh. 'You in charge?'

'Yeah, yeah, shut your face. It's not like I'm psychologically projecting or anything, am I?'

'That Jack is your personal slave keeping the archives in check?'

'I was thinking more that it was some kind of deep seated desire for power and control.'

Owen snorted again. 'Yes, I can absolutely see the designs for total world domination ticking over. We should all be terrified.'

'No need to be mean. I was trying to make a genuine medical enquiry.'

'Well, according to my tests you're fine, excepting this new pathological need to conquer. I'll mention it to Jack but I doubt he'll lose sleep over it.'
