Summary: Ianto knows a storm is coming, in more than one way. A double drabble.

‘A storm’s coming,’ Helen said as she sidled up beside Ianto as he peered worryingly at the sky which was beginning to swirl a dark grey overhead. Out here on the clifftop the wind was already whipping and tugging at their clothes.

‘That’s what I was afraid of,’ he replied. It was a thought that had troubled him the entire time he’d been out here at Flat Holm. Without Jack around, the negative rift alert had fallen to him to deal with. He’d told the team he would be gone for a few hours to sort out a bundle of odd jobs that none of them could have given two figs about, but now he was faced with the prospect of it being more than just a few hours.

‘You can stay here tonight,’ Helen offered. ‘We’ve always got a few spare beds.’

‘I know,’ he said, mentally picturing the rooms that currently sat unoccupied, just waiting for Jack – or perhaps now just him – to fill them with victims. He was beginning to understand why Jack hated this place. Even the sky was unwelcoming and depressing.

‘It’ll blow over by tomorrow,’ she assured him.

‘If only everything did,’ he replied.

Poor Ianto, that's a huge burden he's stuck with while Jack is gone.
