Summary: Jack never misses, given the right incentive. A double drabble.
Norton frowned at the paper target as he walked over to inspect it. ‘You really are a terrible shot, old bean,’ he said, studying the holes in the outline. ‘Two in the shoulder, just barely I should add, three off target, and well, bullet number six didn’t even hit the paper. God knows where that one went. One would think you’ve never fired a weapon before.’ He looked back over his shoulder and curved an eyebrow at Jack. ‘Something got you a little bit distracted, hmm?’
Jack reloaded his webley, looking unperturbed. ‘Are you saying I'm out of practice?’
Norton looked at him in askance. ‘What I'm saying is that your hand eye coordination is terrible.’
‘I didn’t hear you complaining the other night.’
‘Yes, well, even a caveman can manage to poke peg A into slot B. You hardly get points for that.’
Norton suddenly felt Jack’s hot breath on his neck, the taller man craning over him, and, if he recalled correctly, now holding a fully loaded gun. ‘I’ll bet if I was aiming at you I wouldn’t miss,’ Jack growled in his ear.
Norton gave a sigh. ‘Yes, I imagine you’d make sure of it, wouldn’t you?’
