Summary: Owen has to get Ianto up to speed on some ground rules. A double drabble.
Ianto approached the desks where Owen and Tosh were working with notepad in hand. Not that he needed it with his photographic memory, but people sometimes found that kind of thing off-putting, and one thing he didn’t want his new team to think of him as was memorable. Jack had suggested he organise lunch for the team, so that’s what he’d do.
‘I’m just popping out to grab lunch for everyone. Can I take your order?’
Owen stopped what he was doing and stared at him. ‘What, you mean I get a choice?’
Ianto quirked an eyebrow back at him. ‘You'd rather I choose?’
Owen snatched the menu off him. ‘No, it's fine. It's… Well it’s a bit more democratic than what we usually do.’
‘And what's that? What you usually do.’
‘Whoever gets lumped with going to pick it up gets to decide. It's why we never ask Tosh.’
‘Hey, what's wrong with what I choose?’
‘It's boring, Tosh.’
‘Egg salad sandwiches are not boring.’
‘And I rest my case.’ Owen scanned the menu again. ‘Bacon sarnie with extra brown sauce. And a chocolate danish.’
‘Tosh? What can I get you? ‘
‘Egg salad sandwich.’
‘See, what'd I tell you?’
