Summary: Ianto realises that they're all in big trouble thanks to John Hart. A double drabble.
Ianto cursed under his breath as he listened to the endless dial tone of the SUV trying and failing to connect to the phones of his teammates. John's words rang in his ears as he pressed the accelerator pedal harder, heading for Owen and Tosh's last known location. Bleeding and dying. He had to hope that John was only toying with him, but part of him believed the man was truly capable of cold-blooded murder.
They should never have split up. Even if there were three canisters, and even if they were as dangerous as John claimed them to be – which Ianto was increasingly beginning to think was just yet another lie – they should never have put themselves in a position where John could get to them. They needed all five pairs of eyes and guns trained on his every move. Now they were paying the price for their naivety.
Maybe if Jack weren't here they could have blamed it as a rookie mistake, but Jack had said yes to the idea. He'd trusted John to be a changed man and now Ianto had left him behind to face John alone.
He prayed Jack made it out of there alive.
