Summary: Tosh feels Ianto's absence more keenly than she expected. A double drabble.
Tosh frowned as she walked in, setting her bag down on her desk and looking around the hub. She was always early to work, but never the first one here. Jack basically lived here and Ianto wasn't far behind, always with a smile and a cup of steaming hot coffee just as soon as she arrived. Today there was no one. No coffee to greet her, though perhaps she shouldn't find that surprising. Ianto had been through hell. She could hardly expect it to be a priority for him.
Jack appeared silently in his doorway, leaning heavily against it, hands tucked deep in his pockets.
'No Ianto?' she asked.
'I put him on suspension,' Jack replied. He sounded guilt ridden.
'Suspension?' That alarmed Tosh. Suspension was usually one one step from being fired, and despite it all, she didn't want to see Ianto get fired.
Jack sighed. 'I didn't know what else to do. Trying to strike a balance between letting him have time to grieve and letting him know he did the wrong thing and needs to consider if this is what he still wants to do.'
Tosh chewed her lip. 'I hope he does.'
Jack nodded. 'Me too.'
