tw100Summary: Ianto fears what Owen will do to get Jack back. A double drabble.
Ianto gave the safe door a worried glance from the corner of his eye. Somewhere outside Jack’s office he could still hear Owen stomping about, trying to figure out how the hell they were going to get Jack and Tosh back from 1941, and he was hell bent on the belief that the rift machine could make it happen.
The rift machine blueprints were in that safe, Ianto knew. He also knew the combination that would open the safe and gain them access, perhaps enabling them to use what little of Tosh’s equations they already had. He couldn't tell Owen that. If he did, Owen would make him open the safe, possibly at gunpoint.
Opening the rift was dangerous, that’s what Jack said. Rule number one: don’t mess with the rift. Those plans were locked away for a reason. None of them – not even Jack – dared to try controlling the rift.
He eyed the door again. Would Owen notice the way he kept looking at it, knowing what he knew? It wasn’t like he didn’t desperately want Jack and Tosh back. He loved them both, but none of their lives were worth risking it, that’s what Jack would have said.
