Summary: Rhys can't understand why he gets all the crappy jobs. A double drabble.
‘Home, sweet home,’ Jack announced as he pulled the SUV into its usual space in the car park underneath the Millennium Centre, just a few yards to the right of a door that innocuous read “Electrical Panel - Authorised Personnel Only” It wasn’t entirely incorrect. It was just that it was Torchwood who were the only persons authorised.
‘Rhys, get the door for us, would you?’ Jack asked as they all alighted from the vehicle.
Rhys looked around at the three of them. ‘Me? Why me?’ He’d only gone and helped them save the day a few hours ago. Surely he was better than being relegated to official door opener.
Jack frowned as his reticence, looking slightly displeased. ‘Well, because Gwen and Ianto are having to carry the alien corpse, obviously.’
‘You got a bone in your arm?’ Rhys asked. ‘Not like you don’t have a spare hand.’
‘I’m the boss,’ Jack replied. ‘Besides, I need to have both hands free to look dashing and heroic.’
‘What, down here?’ Rhys looked around again. There was no one here to see anyone looking dashing or heroic.
‘It's a tough job but someone’s gotta do it. Now, door please. Before Gwen gets grumpy.’
