Tosh’s body went limp in Jack’s arms and he heard Gwen sob loudly as his own tears began to spill unbidden.
He couldn’t believe that his beautiful Toshiko was dead, waiting until they’d arrived to find her so that she could give him one last report and one final piece of bad news – Owen was dead. Then she had looked up at him and smiled.
It was that moment that broke him. She should have blamed him for her inglorious death and all the pain she’d suffered, but instead she’d just been happy he was there to see her go.
