‘Well, that didn’t go quite how I planned it,’ Jack said, leading his dejected team from the building. ‘So much for team bonding.’
‘There are other pubs,’ Gwen replied, trying to keep things positive. ‘Just not other pub quizzes.’
‘I for one,’ Owen began, ‘was all for the drinking without the crappy attempts at social inclusion. If anything, this is a step in the right direction.’
‘You’re such a bundle of joy, Owen,’ Tosh chided, before putting a consoling hand on Ianto’s arm. ‘I’m sorry it wasn’t what you hoped for.’
‘I just thought a pub quiz would’ve been fun,’ he replied, looking devastated.
‘It might have been if they didn't think we were cheating,’ Owen said.
‘But we weren't!’
‘Just because you’re the smartest person in the room doesn’t mean you have to underscore that fact. Even I thought you were becoming annoying.’
‘Be nice, Owen,’ Jack warned, trying to come to Ianto’s aid. ‘Getting barred from the pub was a little bit extreme. Especially when they couldn’t prove it.’
‘It's not my fault I know more about Cardiff than everyone else,’ Ianto sulked.
Jack wrapped an arm around his shoulder. ‘They just don't appreciate it like we do.’
