Summary: Being Owen Harper isn't as easy as it looks. A double drabble.

Being undead sucks.

Torchwood has pretty much gone back to normal, if there ever had been such a thing as normal. Even Owen's job is much the same as it was before he'd been shot, and everyone is back to treating him just like old times, mostly cheap insults and silly banter.

It's all back to how it was except for one thing. Owen isn't alive anymore. Every day he discovers something new about his old life that he can never have again. Cheese and onion crisps, haircuts, a hand job, intimacy. Things that can only be enjoyed when you're alive. Little things that the rest of them take for granted, each one becoming a new wave of despair. Being dead would be better. You don't miss things when you're dead; no having to consciously bid them farewell one by one from your life.

He's fine when he's around the team. He still butts heads with Jack, tells Tosh her presentations are boring, makes fat jokes about Rhys and winds Ianto up at every opportunity, but it doesn't feel the same. He puts on a good show but it's all just an illusion. He simply isn't one of them anymore.

Poor Owen, he's lost everything and can never get any of it back.
