Summary: Ianto is far more wary of alien plant life than the rest of the team. A double drabble.
‘It’s pretty spectacular, don’t you think?’ Jack said, lifting up the pot in his hands and showing off their latest addition. The plant had been nothing special when Jack had brought it in yesterday, but this morning it was blossoming in every shade imaginable. ‘All it needed was a little water.’
‘It’s gorgeous,’ Tosh agreed, pulling one of the colour-changing blooms towards her and smelling its heady perfume. ‘And it has a lovely fragrance, too. Do you think we could keep it out here rather than tucked away hidden in our hothouse? It’s too pretty to not have it on show.’
‘I don’t see why not,’ Jack said.
‘Don’t get too attached to it, Tosh,’ Ianto warned. ‘That’s just what it wants; for you to idolise it and tend to its every need. I say we isolate it and keep it under observation since Jack can’t confirm exactly what species it is.’ He narrowed his eyes at it then wandered off.
Tosh frowned. ‘What was that about?’
‘Oh, don’t mind Ianto. He’s still a little bit touchy about plants ever since that one had him in its hypnotic grip, making him feed it his blood.’
‘I’m not touchy!’ Ianto yelled.
