torchwood100Summary: Everyone on the team has their own strategy for reclaiming alien items. A double drabble.
Jack growled under his breath, clearly unhappy. ‘I told you we should have taken our weapons. Now we’re going to have to bust in later tonight and get the damn thing,’ referring to the alien item that had found its way into a bespoke antiques store.
‘We could have just bought it,’ Gwen replied. ‘That would have been the simplest solution.’
‘Did you see what the guy was charging for it? That place is a licence to print money. I draw the line at being taken advantage of. Torchwood doesn’t pay for stuff that’s ours to begin with.’
Gwen groaned. ‘Well, I suppose I'd better call Rhys and let him know I'm not going to make it home for tea again. Instead we’ll be breaking and entering under the cover of dark to fetch some weird looking…’ she gesticulated in the air, trying to describe the shape of it.
‘You mean this?’ Ianto asked, revealing the object from inside his jacket.
Jack appeared surprised. ‘How did you…?’
‘You’ve read my file, Jack. I have a criminal history of being light-fingered.’
‘You got caught,’ Jack reminded him.
‘Correction. The group got caught. On my own, I'd have gotten away with it.’
