Summary: When Jack ends up feeling guilty that things ended the way they did. A triple drabble.

Jack stormed out of the hub, making the mile long journey to the one decent coffee shop in Cardiff in half the time he usually did. He wasn't going to be denied coffee just because Ianto refused to make anything other than decaf.

The place was busy and Jack was forced to wait in line, considering their row the night before. He was probably lucky coffee was the only thing he'd punished Jack with so far. At least his dry cleaning had been hanging on the door, meaning he wouldn't be without clothes for the day.

By the time he reached the front of the queue, he ordered not one, but five coffees, pausing long enough to drink his own, and carry the four remaining in a cardboard tray back to the hub.

He handed out three of them, apologising for the hold up, then carried the last one to the archives.

Jack didn't knock, he simply entered and set the cup down on the desk. Ianto paused his note making, looked at it, then up at Jack.

‘I'm never going to change,’ Jack said, as close to an apology as he could make it. He'd lived too long and become stuck in his ways, even if he knew that it drove Ianto to the point of yelling sometimes, and that Jack would inevitably yell back.

Ianto twirled the paper cup on the desk. ‘I know,’ he said softly, far from the stern cheek he'd given Jack earlier in handing him decaf and ignoring Jack's angry demands to take it away and bring him a real coffee. ‘It's one of the reasons why I love you. You always just stay exactly who you are.’

Jack perched on the edge of the desk. ‘Not true. I'm better when I'm with you.’

Aww! This is perfect! Maybe Jack has learned a little something from this, even if he says he never changes, perhaps he could adapt a little.
