Summary: Jack is suffering from a terrible rash. A double drabble.
‘It's definitely a rash,’ Owen said, inspecting Jack's arm with gloved hands. ‘Is it showing up anywhere else?’
Jack pulled up his shirt and t-shirt, revealing a large patch of blotchy red along the side of his torso and then tugged the cuff of his trouser, indicating more on his leg.
‘And nowhere else?’
‘You’re enjoying this, aren’t you? And no, nothing there, unless of course you’d like to take a look for yourself.’
‘I’ll take your word for it,’ Owen quickly replied, declining the offer. ‘Itchy?’
Jack shook his head. ‘But it burns like hell sometimes and sets my nerve endings on fire like I’m being stabbed with a hot knife.’
‘And you haven’t touched anything, eaten anything you shouldn’t, used any creams or solvents or…’
‘Totally out of the blue,’ Jack confirmed, wincing as one of those described stabbing pains attacked his side. ‘God, what is this thing?’
‘Ever had chicken pox?’
‘I had Naarva Scarab Pox when I was ten. Sorta the same thing.’
Owen shrugged. ‘Close enough, I suppose. Probably just a reactivation of the virus. Should clear up on its own, but avoid physical contact just in case it's contagious.’
‘No Ianto funtime?’
‘Definitely not.’
