Summary: Rhiannon is helpless as she watches her brother sink into despondency. A double drabble.
Rhiannon silently poked her head around the door, watching the back of her brother's head as he sat slumped on their battered sofa, staring at a blank television screen. The television was almost never off with the kids and Johnny around the house but ever since Ianto had moved in with them, if he was there and it was turned off, that was how it stayed.
Of course if it was on before he arrived, he'd usually just park himself there and let them watch whatever was on, silently and without judgement.
It worried her that her brother was becoming more and more isolated by the day, clearly not coping with having lost his job and his boyfriend all in one go. She didn't understand half of it, but she could read perfectly that Ianto was becoming depressed by the loss of everything.
The sodding government should have been helping since they were to blame for everything. Instead it fell to her to make sure he didn't do anything desperate. Staring at a blank screen wasn't a good sign, but at least he was safe there and couldn't hurt himself. She'd look after him for as long as it took.
