Summary: Ianto needs to reach Jack before it's too late. A triple drabble.

Ianto was on an alien world. An alien world, he reminded himself, as he gripped his gun tighter and forced it into the back of the Saviour, forcing him to lead the way. This wasn’t how he ever imagined it happening. You didn’t just step through a portal and end up in a far flung part of the universe. If ever he’d imagined it might happen one day, he expected it to be aboard a ship, set off from Earth, with Captain Jack Harkness at the helm, his broad confident smile dispelling any worries or concerns Ianto might have.

Instead of having Jack guide him, it was Ianto needing to come and rescue Jack. Of course he wouldn't have needed saving if Ianto hadn’t been so stupid and selfish as to let the Saviour take Jack in the first place.

He spared a brief look left and right as he followed his prisoner. God, this place was awful. And he’d been just about to step through the portal himself to escape his own life, thinking paradise might really exist on the other side. Jack’s warning that it was nothing more than a slave world was far too kind an assessment. It was bleak and horrible beyond his wildest imaginings of such a place.

‘It’s not too late to join your friend,’ Saviour intoned, as if it still had the upper hand.

Ianto jabbed him with the gun again. ‘Keep moving and shut up.’ In the distance a large grey building loomed and Ianto swore he could hear Jack’s pained cries even from this distance. It wasn’t slavery, it was outright torture.

“Just hold on, Jack,” Ianto silently pleaded, watching his own back for signs of an ambush. “I’m coming to get you and take you home.”

Assuming that was possible.

It may have ben Ianto's fault that Jack wound up there, but it's still brave of him to mount a rescue.
