Summary: Jack is in big trouble to defying Ianto. A double drabble.
‘Drop it!’ came the stern words.
Jack froze, gripping the paper takeaway cup like it was a life buoy in a raging sea. Those welsh tones could hold a surprising amount of anger. He twirled. ‘Who, me?’
Ianto looked at him in askance. ‘No, the other Jack Harkness I'm currently mad at.’
‘Oh.’
Ianto scowled again. ‘I said drop it.’
‘Seriously? You want mediocre coffee all over the floor?’
‘Well, obviously I don’t mean drop the cup. Putting it down will suffice.’
‘Then you should have said put it down, not drop it.
‘Do you really want to push your luck today? Rumour has it if I kill you, you come back again.’
‘Point taken,’ Jack said, slowly lowering the coffee cup onto the nearest available surface and then resuming his standing position, empty hands raised in surrender. ‘I can explain.’
‘Yes, you always do, and it's always rubbish,’ Ianto replied. ‘You're on decaf this week.’
‘But it's not fair!’
‘Life's not fair. Now it'll be two weeks and I don't care how much of a bear that makes you towards everybody else. Maybe they'll keep you in line from now on.’
Jack pouted. ‘Hate you.’
‘Good, then it’s working.’
