Summary: It takes a lot to survive Serenity Plaza. A double drabble.
Ianto smacked his lips as he emptied the last mouthful from his wine glass. ‘That was a surprisingly good drop. I could get used to winning “Best lawn of the month”.’
‘Don’t get too cocky,’ Jack warned. ‘Bob will be out for revenge to reclaim the title.’
‘Well, this month he can’t have it. Ianto waggled his glass. More?’
‘You just drank the last of it,’ Jack reminded him.
‘Maybe something from our personal collection, then,’ Ianto said, wandering towards the pantry.
Jack frowned as he cast a look over the back of the sofa. ‘Collection? Since when are you a connoisseur of wine?’
Ianto bent down and revealed a small rack of bottles beneath the bottom shelf. ‘Since it kills a half hour more when I do the grocery run. Anything to escape this place for a while. Shiraz or Pinot Noir?’
Jack gave a concerned look. ‘That’s a lot of wine. Should I be worried about you?’
Ianto rolled his eyes as he carried a bottle over. ‘Please. Drinking isn’t a way of life here, it’s a coping mechanism. Small wonder Vanessa is practically pickled. Now, shall we drink and be merry?’
Jack raised his glass. ‘Chin chin.’
