Summary: Jack and Ianto have found the perfect spot to spend a few hundred years. A quadruple drabble.

‘Are you sure you want to stay here?’ Jack asked, taking another worrying look at his husband. He knew Ianto was a thinker and didn't make rash decisions – unlike Jack – but he also knew that Ianto was just as prone to letting his heart decide things for him as he was his head.

‘What's wrong with here?’

‘Nothing,’ Jack replied. The fact was that this planet with its isolated rural lakes and mountains was beautiful and tranquil, with only a handful of locals choosing to call the place home. For them to start calling it home was something else entirely. ‘I just mean… we can go anywhere we want, do anything at all. We don't have to stay in one spot.’

‘I know. But we've been travelling for a long time now and maybe it's time for a place to settle for a while.’

True, they had eternity and what was the rush to see and do everything, but likewise, there was no need to get stuck in a rut so soon. ‘We could be working for the Shadow Proclamation,’ Jack said, ‘or transporting goods. We've got a ship that can take us anywhere we need to be. We don't have to hole up somewhere.’

‘It's not holing up! Ianto grabbed him by the hand and dragged him towards the edge of the huge lake that crept up to the edge of the abandoned cottage, encouraging him to take a seat on a small rickety wooden bench that had been built there just for sitting and admiring the view. ‘Money isn't everything, you know. Look out there,’ he said, still holding Jack's hand as they sat together, watching the slow ripples on the lake reflect back a blurred version of the pale grey skies overhead. ‘Don't you just feel it in your bones that this place is something special?’

Jack inhaled deeply, unable to deny that the place had a certain something about it, pulling them into its orbit. It was a far cry from busy cities and bustling spaceports. Out here there was scarcely a neighbour. Just the two of them surrounded by nature. Ianto had fallen in love with it, and Jack would do anything for him. Perhaps they could afford to spend a little time back on terra firma. Ianto was right, money wasn't everything. Ianto was everything to Jack, no matter where they chose to stay.

That's right, Jack. Making Ianto happy is much more important than making more money. Perhaps you could raise a family in this beautiful spot.
