Summary: Some battles aren't worth fighting. A double drabble.

‘Are you throwing out my jar of coffee?’

Ianto was startled by the voice behind him, caught with the jar of instant coffee in one hand as he gripped the black bin bag in the other, making his rounds of the hub, tidying up as he often did. He twirled, still holding the jar, and then giving it a suspicious look. ‘Is that what this is? I thought it was one of Owen’s experiments past its sell by date. He’s always shoving things in jars and seeing what happens.’

Gwen folded her arms and frowned at him. ‘Storing them in my desk drawer?’

‘It’s Owen,’ he replied. ‘Have you seen the inside of our fridge recently? It’s like something out of a horror film.’

Gwen stepped towards him and he felt transfixed by that determined look on her face that usually made people stop what they were doing. Good thing she wasn’t armed. ‘I’ll be taking that back, thanks,’ she said, snatching the curved glass jar from his hand. ‘If you’re going to be swanning about in the field with Jack, don’t expect me to go without.’

‘But…’

Her withering stare was enough to make him reconsider his next words.
