Summary: Jack isn't happy about the current state of frivolity going on overhead. A double drabble.
‘Seriously,’ Jack said, his expression turning thunderous, ‘who the hell thought it was a good idea not to tell us about this?’
‘We’re a secret organisation,’ Ianto replied calmly. ‘I think the explanation goes without saying.’
Jack huffed and folded his arms. ‘It’s still ridiculous! The invisible lift by the water tower is an essential part of our operations.’
‘If by essential you mean a way to look flashy for visitors…’
‘In an emergency it’s the quickest way to get into the hub without having to run across the entire Plass, down the steps, along the quay and through the tourist office. Every second can count.’
‘Okay, fair point,’ Ianto conceded, ‘but it is only for a couple of days that we won’t have access. We can hope that there are no crises between now and then.’
Jack scowled. ‘Next time the council thinks about hosting a carnival on the Plass, they need to tell us.’
Ianto arched an eyebrow. ‘So that we can say no?’
‘Exactly!’
‘Might have to close the tourist office for a few days. Otherwise I'll get nothing done with the influx of people. Now, can I go buy you some candy floss?’
Jack grunted. ‘Fine.’
