Summary: Torchwood doesn't discriminate when it comes to retcon. A double drabble.

‘Heading home?’ Jack asked, startling Ianto as he emerged from the shadows like a thief in the night. Ianto supposed he only had himself to blame for that, having turned off all the main lights in the hub, shutting it down for the evening. It was only muscle memory that prevented him from tripping over things as he made his way towards the carpark, calling it a night.

‘Yes, sir,’ he replied.

‘Nice work on scrambling the home computer,’ Jack said, praising him for having hacked the device remotely to delete the single word processor document and the confused notes contained within it, describing the team by name and occupation.

‘It’s a little bit of a shame, don’t you think?’ They’d retconned plenty of people but somehow PC Gwen Cooper’s retconning felt a little bit wrong. She hadn’t totally freaked out, and that was unusual in their line of work.

‘There are only two types of people in this world, Ianto Jones,’ Jack replied. ‘Those that know about Torchwood and those that don’t.’

Ianto arched an eyebrow. ‘And we’re the lucky ones?’

‘Nope. The ones that have no idea what we do and why we exist, they’re the lucky ones.’
