As Tosh slipped the two slices of bread in the toaster, she could sense someone standing behind her, watching her. She turned and found Ianto lurking silently just a few feet away. ‘It’s fine, Ianto. Really,’ she said. ‘It’s just toast.’
‘In our brand new toaster,’ he replied.
‘I read all the instructions before turning it on,’ Tosh replied, then frowned. ‘Wait, is that a fire extinguisher?’
Ianto lofted the small red canister. ‘Fire retardant foam. Just in case. Not that we don’t trust you. It’s just, well… after last time.’
‘You blow up one toaster and everyone loses faith.’
