Summary: Ianto's ideas for their day off aren't so dull after all. A double drabble.
Jack stretched luxuriously in bed, relishing the fact that they had a rare day off. If he had a choice, they'd stay in bed all day, but Ianto was already up and he could hear the shower running. ‘What are you doing?’ Jack called out. ‘Get back to bed!’
The water stopped running. ‘I'm not wasting our one day off,’ he replied, stepping back into the bedroom, towel around his waist.
‘Neither was I,’ Jack said. ‘Obviously you had other plans though.’
Ianto ran a comb through his damp hair. ‘I thought we could go somewhere ordinary. Like the zoo.’
‘Ordinary?’ Jack wasn't sure how he felt about that. They were definitely not ordinary.
Ianto curved an eyebrow before heading back into the bathroom. ‘You don't like the zoo?’
Jack's wrist strap beeped quietly, out of Ianto's line of view. Strange energy signals not far from here. In fact, somewhere within the radius of the zoo. He could check them out and keep his promise of taking Ianto out on a much overdue date. What could be more perfect? ‘You know what? That sounds great. We should do more ordinary things.’
‘We should?’ Now Ianto was the one sounding sceptical.
