Summary: As far as Jack's concerned, it's any port in a storm. A double drabble.
‘Hurry up, Ianto!’ Jack yelled, his boots splashing through the quickly forming puddles, ducking his head to avoid the worst of the rain. He could hear Ianto’s footfalls closing the distance between them, only a yard or so behind him by the time he reached the water tower.
‘Jack! Where are you going?’
Jack was tugging back the cuff of his coat, flipping open the cover on his wrist strap. ‘You wanna jog all the way down to the quayside in this rain? We’ll be soaked through. Time for a shortcut.’ He paused a second and looked at Ianto, keeping a few feet distance between them. ‘Get up here,’ he said, nodding down at the flagstone, knowing Ianto might not be able to see him. The perception filter qualities of the flagstone made it impossible for normal people to see, but for a seasoned Torchwood operative, sometimes it was possible to see past it.
‘I’ve never liked the invisible lift,’ Ianto said, standing there defiantly in the rain. ‘It’s a long way down with no safety rails and nothing to hang on to.’
Jack reached forward and grabbed his arm, tugging him onto the flagstone. ‘You can hang onto me.’
