Summary: Ianto isn't so sure about this whole undercover business. A double drabble.
‘You’re sure this is going to work?’ Ianto asked, peering at the strange necklace. It wasn’t much more than an old key on a piece of string, yet Jack assured him that it had the same perception filter qualities as the flagstones in front of the water tower, just not quite so invisible. He had a pair of them, one for Ianto and one for himself.
Ianto placed it over his head, tucking it inside his shirt. Not that he felt he really needed it. Unlike Jack he was wearing civilian clothes, as befit a civilian. Jack on the other hand was in his traditional slacks, shirt, braces and greatcoat. Like that wouldn't stand out when the neighbours saw him.
Even the SUV had been given a perception filter boost. Apparently the blue flashing lights and the big yellow letters on the top that said Torchwood couldn’t be seen. They were the proud owners of a plain black Range Rover. Nothing to see here, folks.
‘Serenity Plaza has no idea who just moved in,’ Jack assured him. ‘More’s pity for them,’ he added.
‘You still look the same to me,’ Ianto said.
‘Well, you look sexier than ever. Lucky neighbours.’
