Summary: Gwen can't understand why Ianto is in a strop. A double drabble.
Gwen watched from the corner of her eye and Ianto marched officiously around the hub, clipboard in one hand, pen in the other, and wearing a persistent frown. ‘What are you doing?’ she finally asked, having just watched him paw through a desk drawer before sliding it shut and locking it with a key.
‘Inventory,’ came the one word reply. Making sure nothing gets stolen.
Ah, Gwen thought, Ianto's dark mood finally making sense. ‘You think they'd steal from us?’
‘They're a salvage crew,’ he said with an air of disdain. ‘They go around taking stuff and selling it for a profit. This place is like an all you can eat buffet for money grubbing pickpockets.’
‘I'm sure they wouldn't,’ she replied, trying to placate him. ‘It's just a few days until they can repair their ship.’
He frowned at her. ‘And in the meantime Jack's taken them to the pub so they can regale one another with their stories of con artistry.’
And there it was, Gwen thought. The real reason Ianto was pissed off. This jealousy thing was even worse than catching them making out in the hothouse. ‘Okay, well you let me know if anything goes missing.’
