drabble_zone Summary: Ianto is having real trouble juggling calendars. A triple drabble.
'I can do Tuesday evening,' Ianto said, his mobile phone wedged between his ear and his shoulder as he consulted his diary. He frowned at the response on the other end of the line. 'Oh, well, if Tuesday isn't good then…' he flipped pages searching for a space that wasn't filled with multiple lines of neat scrawl. 'Saturday morning would probably work.'
'We've got your niece's football match on Saturday morning,' Jack called over his shoulder, eavesdropping on Ianto's half of the conversation.
'Ah, scratch that,' Ianto said, scribbling it down and putting a big circle around it so he wouldn't forget. His sister would murder him if he missed that. Not to mention Mica would be gutted that her uncles weren't there to watch her play. He flipped a few more pages.' You said you don't work Mondays, didn't you?' A confirmation on the other end left him sighing. Monday was free in his diary. That was just his luck today, so it would seem.
He studied the pages looking for something he could shuffle around. When had it gotten so full of things to see and do? Once upon a time it would have been almost pristine with only the occasional thing penned in. Then spotted it, one perfect gap that could be surrendered. It was a wrench to give up but what choice was there? 'Wednesday lunchtime? Excellent. I'll book it in.' He hung up before anyone could decide Wednesday wasn't good.
'I thought we were going on a date on Wednesday?' Jack asked, frowning. 'It's been months since we had a day off just the two of us.'
'Well, now it's a date with the travel agent so that we can finally lock in two whole weeks of dates, or would you rather cancel holiday plans?'
